Players of the Week

Field player: Anthony Cala, Wood-Ridge, Sr.

Wood-Ridge went 2-1 last week and scored 11 goals as a team and Cala was involved in more than half of them. He netted two goals and two assists against Passaic Charter and one goal and one assist against North Arlington, giving him three goals and three assists on the week.

Goalkeeper: Spencer Budinich, Rutherford, Sr.

After seeing action in just seven games last year, Budinich has already started — and impressed — in both games for coach John Randazzo’s squad this season. He tallied three saves in a 1-0 shutout against an always tough Waldwick team with one of the state’s top scorers and followed that up with a two save outing in a 3-0 shutout against Wallington.
