PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Nick Atme, Glen Rock, Sr., QB

Atme had a breakout performance as Glen Rock rolled to a 42-0 win over Waldwick. Atme completed 13 of 18 passes for a career-high 273 yards and a career-best six touchdowns. He had touchdown passes of 20, 50, 15, 43, 20 and 10 yards.

Shawn Bellenger, Lyndhurst, Sr., QB

Bellenger pulled the Golden Bears to 2-1 on the season with three passing touchdowns in a 45-0 win over Elmwood Park on Friday in Lyndhurst. The scores came from seven yards, 21 and 71 yards. Bellenger threw for 309 yards on 17-of-20 efficiency in the victory. It’s the first time he has gone over the 300-yard mark in his career.

Chris Gioia, Rutherford, Sr., RB/DB

Gioia helped Rutherford get back on track and in the win column as he scored five touchdowns in the Bulldogs’ 33-0 win over Manchester Regional. Gioia had seven carries for 125 yards and two touchdowns, while catching four passes for 101 yards and three scores. He also recorded five tackles, including one for loss, on defense.

Jake Summers, Hasbrouck Heights, Sr., RB/LB

Summers delivered big numbers on both sides of the ball in the Aviators’ 28-6 win over Hawthorne on Friday in Hasbrouck Heights. Summers bucked for 125 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries, caught two passes for 71 yards and a score, and generated seven tackles (including three tackles for loss) on defense.
