North Jersey Interscholastic Conference Players of the Week
Andrew Adegbite, Pompton Lakes, Jr., F
The 6-foot-5 forward has 13 double-doubles in 15 games this season. Adegbite is great on the boards and his ability to score continues to come along. There aren’t many players in Passaic County who can match the junior’s numbers. Last week, he averaged 19 points and 11.8 rebounds. Adegbite’s length also makes him tough on defense. He has 38 blocks this winter.
Adrian Rozon, Becton, Sr., G
Rozon is a 1,000-point scorer who hit that milestone in a three-year span. The senior had a monster game last week, scoring a season-high 33 points against Wood-Ridge. Rozon also pulled down seven rebounds, came up with three steals and blocked two shots. The senior has been one of the best scorers in the NJIC since he made the jump to varsity as a sophomore.
Omer Tal, Cresskill, Sr., F
The 6-foot-5 big man is a senior leader for a team that is reloading this year. Tal has six double-doubles this season. He had 14 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks last week against Midland Park. He also had 20 points, seven rebounds and three blocks in a win over Bergen Charter. Tal can take over down low. When he’s playing his best ball, Cresskill is tough to beat.
