NJIC Boys Basketball Players of the Week
Antonio Miccinilli, Waldwick,So., G/F:
After missing the entire regular season to date, Miccinilli returned to the lineup for Waldwick and made a huge impact in both of his games. In a 60-55 win over Weehawken – the top seed in North 2, Group 1 – he hit four three-points on his way to 17 points. The sophomore then proceeded to go absolutely off against Manchester Regional with nine-three-pointers and 34 points. His presence will make Waldwick a very dangerous eight seed in North 1, Group 1.
Elijah Zaldivar, North Arlington, So., G:
Zaldivar has North Arlington riding high to end the regular season on a five-game winning streak. In wins over Emerson Boro and Kearny last week, he was excellent in scoring and on the boards. He recorded 20 points and six rebounds against Emerson Boro and 21 points and seven rebounds against Kearny.
Sam Fasola, Park Ridge, Jr., G:
Fasola has been the go-to scorer for Park Ridge this season and that continued as the Owls split games with Rutherford and Garfield. He recorded 22 points and four assists against Garfield and 14 points and five rebounds against Rutherford. The junior has at least 50 three-pointers made in each of his first three seasons.
