North Jersey Interscholastic Conference Players of the Week
Kate Broderick, Park Ridge, Jr.
Broderick has rounded into form lately for the Owls. In four games last week, Park Ridge went 3-1 and Broderick had four strong outings in the circle. In 25 innings, she gave up just seven earned runs while striking out 36 and walking just six. She also had five hits and three RBI last week.
Abby Buser, Waldwick, Fr.
Buser made herself known in a big way last week. In her first career start — a game against Wallington — Buser out-dueled Wallington’s All-State pitcher Delilah Tabaka, striking out 16 and walking just two in a 3-2 win. In the next game, she helped Waldwick to its first county tournament win in seven years when she tossed a complete game shutout in a 7-0 win over Dumont, striking out 12 and giving up three hits while also going 4-for-4 with three RBI, a run and two extra-base hits.
