Congratulations to the NJIC student-athletes selected to the  2025 All-North Jersey T&F teams

FIRST TEAM

Ryan Ober

Hasbrouck Heights senior, 800 meters

Ober had an exceptional high school career, turning himself from a workman-like cross-country runner into a terrific long hurdler and long sprinter, capping his career with an outstanding 10th place finish at the State Meet of Champions 800.

After three comfortable wins in the NJIC American, Bergen D and North 1, Group 1 races, he came from way behind to win the BMOC 800 at the tape, before taking fourth in Group 1. He broke a 24-year-old school record and lowered it twice more. He also won four titles in the 400 hurdles.

Will Cusick

Cresskill senior, 110 meter hurdles

Cusick became the first Cougars high hurdler to win a state group championship and the first North Jerseyan to win the race in Group 1 since 1999 with a textbook final race. He just missed making the State Meet of Champions final, and took third place in the Bergen Meet of Champions.

A versatile athlete who medaled in the long and triple jumps and even the javelin, he had never broken 15 seconds in the event until this year and then broke the barrier in each of his 11 trials and finals in a notoriously inconsistent event.

Evan Yuzon

Glen Rock sophomore, shot put

The top sophomore thrower in the state this year, Yuzon shook off a potential early-season disaster when he fouled all three throws in his league meet. But he came right back with a personal best throw of 56-7¼ to win the Bergen C meet, took third in the Group 1 North 2 sectionals and won the Bergen Meet of Champions. He had great throws to finish second in the Group 1 state meet and take 11th in the State Meet of Champions. Yuzon also won four major discus titles, and made it to the State Meet of Champions in that event as well.

Owen Keating

Pompton Lakes senior, pole vault

Keating staked his claim as the greatest pole vaulter in North Jersey history with a dramatic win in a jumpoff for the 2025 SMOC title, adding the outdoor title to his indoor title. He became the first Passaic County boy to win the pole vault after setting Passaic County and North Jersey indoor and outdoor records in the event.

He won five major titles this season, setting a meet record when he cleared 16-3 at the North 1, Group 1 championships. He and sister Emma, who just finished her sophomore year at Rutgers, are just the fifth brother-sister duo to win the same event at the State Meet of Champions.
