NORTH JERSEY INTERSCHOLASTIC CONFERENCE

Players of the Week

Dylan Ferrara, Waldwick-Midland Park, Sr., QB/LB

Ferrara took over on Friday night to help the Waldwick-Midland Park co-op secure its first win of the season. The senior rushed for 242 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries, and finished with 11 tackles on defense, in a 35-14 win over Manchester Regional. It was a career-high rushing performance for the senior, and also the first time in his career that he’s rushed for over 100 yards in a single game.

Patrick Randolph, Park Ridge, So., RB/LB

Randolph was arguably the top freshman in the NJIC last year and it looks like he’s set to follow that up with a great sophomore season. In Park Ridge’s 49-8 win over Weehawken on Friday night, Randolph rushed for 191 yards and four touchdowns on just 10 carries. The highlight of his performance was a 75-yard touchdown run in the first quarter as the Owls were building a big lead.

Brandon Vega, Secaucus, Sr., RB/LB

Vega contributed in Secaucus’ 22-13 win over Saddle Brook on Friday with eight rushes for 39 yards and a touchdown, four catches for 103 yards and a score, and five tackles, one tackle for loss and a half sack. Vega also pinned Saddle Brook deep in its own end with a 35-yard punt.
