North Jersey has been home to myriad state champions in girls volleyball thanks to the presence of numerous powerhouses in Bergen County.

But to cap off the 2025 season, the original Hudson County dynasty is back on top.

Secaucus emerged as the lone North Jersey school to win a division (NJIC Colonial), county (Hudson), sectional (North 2, Group 1) and state (Group 1) championship. The program started by Ridgefield’s Maria Nolan in 1975 now owns 20 NJSIAA titles and 1,038 all-time victories, six more than division rival Bogota.

The Secaucus girls volleyball team captured its state-record 20th NJSIAA championship by defeating Raritan, 25-13, 25-9, 25-5, in the Group 1 final on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025 at Franklin High School in Somerset County.
