North Jersey Interscholastic Conference Swimmers of the Week

Bennett Tran, Secaucus, Jr.

Tran led the way in getting Secaucus off to a solid start to the season with a 100-48 win over Weehawken. He pulled out wins in the 200 FR (1:48.47), 200 MR (1:58.03), 100 back (1:13.22) and 50 free (24.94).

Scarlett Shu, Harrison, So.

One of the top returning swimmers in the NJIC got her season off on the right foot with two of the fastest times she’s ever swam at a dual meet. Against McNair on Dec. 3, Shu touched the wall in 2:16.58 in the 200 IM for a dominant win, then later snagged first in the 100 fly in 1:02.83. She also helped Harrison earn second place finishes in the 200 MR and 400 FR. The Harrison sophomore was a massive reason why her team managed to escape with a 84-82 victory over their Hudson County rivals.
