“Swimmers of the Week”

Caden Cho, Leonia, Jr.

Cho has touched the wall first in every race he has swum for Leonia thus far this season. In a 94-62 win over Lyndhurst, he took center stage again with wins in the 500 free (4:57.21) and the 200 free (1:54.16). The junior already has a MOC qualifying time in the 500 free earlier this season. He was also a member of the victorious 400 FR and 200 MR relay teams against Lyndhurst.

Gabriella Pakovics, Rutherford, Sr.

Rutherford is off to a 4-0 start and winning their meets by an average of 93.5 points. It helps that whenever Pakovics enters the pool, she’s almost guaranteed to give you six points. She has seven individual first-place victories this season, having captured wins in 100 free against both Weehawken (1:08.30) and Harrison (1:00.50) this week. She also clocked a season-best 28.50 in the 50 free against Harrison on Tuesday. She’s also been a mainstay on Rutherford’s unbeaten 200 FR this year, and has chipped in on the 400 FR as well.
