North Jersey Interscholastic Conference Players of the Week
Gabriela Perez, Wood-Ridge, So.
The Paramus Catholic transfer has been impressive so far with the Blue Devils, including last week. She went 9-for-12 with four multi-hit games, nine runs, six RBI and five extra-base hits. In the circle, she tossed 14 innings, striking out 25, walking five and allowing just one earned run.
Brianna DePalo, Cresskill, Fr.
The Cougars are off to a historic 5-1 start and could capture their first division title in 40 years, with DePalo helping pace the offense. She went 7-for-11 with a whopping 14 RBI thanks in part to two home runs. She scored eight runs, drew two walks and stole a base.
Abby Buser, Waldwick, So.
One of North Jersey’s top young pitchers, Buser was nearly unhittable in the circle last week for the Warriors. She allowed just seven hits in 24 innings, walking just two while striking out a whopping 59 in that stretch. She also hit a home run and drove in six runs.
