NJIC Baseball Players of the Week
Jak Gale, St. Mary (Ruth.), So., OF
Gale has been a contributor in all facets this season. He drives in runs, but he also steals bases at a rapid rate. This spring, he has 19 stolen bases, 15 RBIs, and 22 runs scored for the Gaels — one of two remaining NJIC teams in the Bergen County Tournament. In the opening round against New Milford, Gale helped St. Mary to a 5-1 win behind two RBIs, a stolen base, and a hit by pitch. Gale is hitting .413 this spring.
Anthony Way, Saddle Brook, Jr., OF/1B
Way extended his hitting streak to 13 games on May 2 in the 3-1 win over Dwight-Englewood, where he picked up an RBI. Way is a .439 hitter this spring along with 23 runs scored, 22 stolen bases, and eight multi-hit games.
