Glen Rock High School’s girls volleyball team entered the week with a 10-2 record following three big victories last week.
“We beat the top three teams in our conference [NJIC Colonial Division],” coach Matt Kingsley said. “We are now 9-0 in our conference, with the second-place teams each having two losses, which puts us in command for the [division] title.
“We beat Rutherford at Rutherford for the first time in four years,” he added. The other victories were over Elmwood Park and Garfield.
Meghan Donohue had 26 kills, Killeen McDonald 38 assists and Arissa Gazda 14 digs in the Oct. 2 Rutherford match. The coach said Lee Maitner was outstanding in her passing and had 13 service points on the day. “She started the second game with seven straight points to really give us a life after losing the first game,” Kingsley said.
