RECORD BREAKER

Allison Regan had one of the best seasons in school history this past fall, breaking one school record and putting her name on a very short list of runners from Rutherford that qualified for the State Group Championships.

Regan, a senior headed to NJIT, scored her biggest win of the season when she placed first in the Colonial Division of North Jersey Interscholastic Conference title in 20:15.

Regan became just the third girl in school history to break 20 minutes on any course when she placed 31st at the Bergen County Meet of Champions in 19:59 at Darlington Park in Mahwah. She joined  Jennifer Narr and Katie Sullivan in Rutherford’s sub 20 club.

In the North Jersey, Sect. 2 Group 2 race at Greystone, Regan made history when she placed third in 20:03, breaking the school record of 20:16 for Greystone set last year when Sullivan was third in the same race.

Sullivan’s third place finish at the sectional qualified her for the State Group 2 Championships as she became just the seventh girl in Rutherford history to accomplish that feat. At the State Group 2 meet, Regan concluded her great season by placing 40th in 21:00.
