Congratulations to our NJIC athletes selected to the 2025 All-North Jersey baseball teams

 

FIRST TEAM

 

P: Connor Detrick

Midland Park senior

His arm propelled the Panthers (21-9-1) to their first sectional title and the Group 1 state final. Detrick appeared in every postseason game, making three starts and closing three times. He finished 8-4 with four saves, a 1.52 ERA, a 1.01 WHIP and seven complete games. The righty fanned 59 in 78⅓ innings and had a 13-5 record over his last two seasons.

 

 

OF: Chris Gioia

Rutherford senior

A four-year starter with 106 career hits as a batter and 241 strikeouts as a pitcher, Gioia will focus on football when he heads to Marist. He led the Bulldogs (18-8) in runs scored (39) and stolen bases (32), batting .468 (36-for-77) with 20 RBI. The right-hander pitched to some tough luck but still K’d 58 in 36⅔ innings and had a 2.86 ERA.

 

 

Utility: Evan Lagemann

Glen Rock senior

North Jersey’s hit king finished with 50 on the season, including 18 for extra bases (10 doubles, 6 triples, 2 homers). He batted .568, scored 46 runs and drove home 28 more in leading the Panthers (24-6) to their first sectional title since 1999. Lagemann had a .926 fielding percentage at shortstop and contributed on the mound with a 5-2 record.
