Each Tuesday, we’ll take a deep dive into every conference and highlight two players who stood out in the week prior.

These players were outstanding, from dynamic pitching performances to scorching numbers at the plate.

Here are the Players of the Week from April 28-May 4.

North Jersey Interscholastic Conference

Baseball: Rutherford

Erickson had a superb game on May 3 in the Bergen County Tournament opening round against Ridgefield Park.

He dialed up a complete game, compiling seven strikeouts (including the 100th of his career) and one earned run in the 7-3 victory. He also had two RBIs and a run scored to help guide the Bulldogs offense.

This season, Erickson dons a 0.87 ERA in 32 1/3 innings alongside 45 strikeouts. On offense, he is currently riding a 12-game hitting streak, which includes six multi-hit contests.

 

Baseball: Glen Rock

Sean Spitaleri, Glen Rock, Jr., INF

Spitaleri had a huge game against Dwight-Englewood on May 3 in the opening round of the Bergen County Tournament.

He batted 2-for-3 with five RBIs, including a three-run home run. In four games this past week, picked up nine RBIs, going 5-for-13 with three extra-base hits.
