Justin Diez, Becton, So., P/UTL

Diez had a tremendous week to navigate Becton to a 3-0 start. He went 6-for-10 with two triples, three stolen bases, four RBIs and three runs scored. He also picked up the win on the mound against Ridgefield behind five innings and five strikeouts, surrendering one run.

Albert Maldonado Jr., St. Mary (Ruth.), So., P/UTL

Maldonado Jr. had quite the debut with the Gaels. He batted 9-for-11 with four doubles and a triple to guide St. Mary to a 3-0 start. Those nine hits led the NJIC in the first week of the spring. He drove in 11 runs and scored four times. On the mound, he struck out five batters across 2.1 innings against Millburn.

Vinnie Stigliano, Pompton Lakes, Jr., P/SS

Stigliano tossed a complete game over Emerson Boro on Opening Day, allowing one run with nine strikeouts and no walks. At the plate, he went 3-for-3 in the 10-0 victory vs. Parsippany Hills with two RBIs, two stolen bases, one walk and one run.
