North Jersey Interscholastic Conference Players of the Week

Angel Castellano, Harrison, Jr., G

Castellano is one of top scoring guards in the NJIC, averaging 18.2 points per game. The junior had a season-high 34 points earlier this season. Castellano hit eight 3-pointers in that game. It was the second time this season he hit those numbers from deep. Castellano just scored 23 against Lyndhurst. He’s a really good shooter and the centerpiece of Harrison’s offense.

Leo Colosimo, Dwight-Englewood, Jr., G

Colosimo is playing well for Dwight-Englewood and helped his team win the Liberty Division. The junior just had 18 points in a key win over Rutherford, 58-40. Colosimo also had 26 points over the weekend against St. Joseph (Mont.) in the Bergen County Jamboree. Colosimo is the go-to guy on offense for a team that is looking to win the NJIC Tournament title.

Matthew Remias, Rutherford, Sr., F

The 6-foot-9 forward does it all for Rutherford. Remias has 10 double-doubles this season. That includes a 29-point, 15-rebound game against North Arlington. Reimas was also sensational against New Milford earlier this month, with 16 points, 23 rebounds and seven blocks. Reimas is also averaging 2.4 steals per game this winter. He’s an all-around star for Rutherford.Seniors Chris Gioia and Noah Pesantez are also playing well for the Bergen County squad.
