Top-ranked Bergen Catholic (5-2) travels to No. 2 Don Bosco (4-3) on Tuesday night, and the inside track on the No. 1 seed in the Bergen County Jamboree could also be on the line.
Three public schools round out the top 5 based on games reported through Sunday. No. 3 Ridgewood (6-1), No. 4 Northern Highlands (5-1), and No. 5 Teaneck (5-0).
Paterson Charter (8-0) is the highest-ranked team from the small-school NJIC. The Lions are No. 9, and Glen Rock (6-2) is right behind at No. 10, with senior Mason Mangione reaching 1,000 career points in Saturday’s 54-51 win over Dwight Morrow.
Tenafly (6-0) continues to be North Jersey’s biggest surprise, catapulting eight spots to No. 14 following Saturday’s 59-49 victory over then-No. 17 Old Tappan. The Tigers were not ranked in the preseason poll.
Bergen Tech and Manchester debut in the regular-season rankings. Bergen Tech (3-2) is No. 24 after its third consecutive win, 47-45, over then-No. 16 Fair Lawn. Manchester (6-1) is No. 25 on the strength of a six-game winning streak.
