Congratulations on your selection to the Record Sports 2024 All-North Jersey Indoor Track and Field Teams

FIRST TEAM

Jaden Marchan

Leonia senior, 400 meters

It’s hard to imagine a much better season than Marchan enjoyed in his only winter season. The Georgetown-bound star lost just four of 14 races at all distances from 55 to 600 meters, two to 400-meter National record-holder Quincy Wilson of Bullis (Maryland), whose only loss to anyone came to Marchan in Jaden’s state-record 600 win. Marchan won NJIC, sectional, Group 2, Bergen and State Meet of Champions races at 400.

Tyler Caswell

Glen Rock junior, 55 hurdles

He put his untimely false start at last year’s Group 1 championships deep in his rearview mirror by winning the state title with ease this year, one of five major hurdles he won this season. He also won the Spiked Shoe Holiday Festival, and NJIC and sectional titles before taking an eighth-place medal at the State Meet of Champions and reaching the semifinals at the Nike Indoor Nationals. His 7.53 PR is eighth all-time in Bergen County.

Jordan Russell

Weehawken senior, high jump

Another talented and ultra-consistent athlete, Russell cleared at least 6-4 in each of the eight meets he competed in, winning seven and coming up just short at the State Meet of Champions. He won meets at the Jersey Armory (Hudson County Winter Series 1 and Hudson County championship), the Bubble (North 2, Group 1 sectional and Group 1), the Armory (Hispanic Games and NJIC) and Ocean Breeze (Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival)

Owen Keating

Pompton Lakes junior, pole vault

The last time Keating had vaulted before this winter was at a summer meet in June 2022, when he cleared 11-7Ā¾ to take third in the freshman division at New Balance Nationals. After skipping all of last year with pains in his legs, he cleared 13 feet to take third at the Coach Saint Invitational at the Armory. A month later, he set the Passaic County record by vaulting 15 feet to win the NJIC championships. He ended up with six titles and cleared 15 feet a second time to take third at the State Meet of Champs.
