NORTH JERSEY INTERSCHOLASTIC LEAGUE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Field player: Yusufu Jaite, Harrison

The Blue Tide are through to the Hudson County semifinals and were aided in getting there thanks in part to the efforts of Jaite. He netted a goal and dished out three assists in a regular season 6-1 win against Park Ridge before burying two of Harrison’s three goals in a 3-1 win over Dickinson in the Hudson County quarterfinals. The two goals in the Dickinson game also made him a double digit goal scorer for the first time in his career. — Jake Aferiat

Goalkeeper: Jared Scharf, Emerson

The senior for the Cavos has been tested often this year but it hasn’t been an issue as Scharf kept his team in three games last week, making five saves in a 4-0 shutout over Lyndhurst before making five saves in a 3-2 win against Indian Hills and six in a 3-2 win against Hasbrouck Heights to send Emerson to the semifinals of the Bergen County Cup. All told he made 16 saves with one shutout in three games last week. — Jake Aferiat
