Players of the Week
Field Player: Evan Hopeck, Eastern Christian, Sr.
Hopeck scored seven goals and added an assist last week for Eastern Christian. He scored two goals in the final 10 minutes in a 2-1 win over Butler and followed that up by scoring a first-half hat trick in a win 4-3 win over Weehawken. Hopeck scored the eventual game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over Palisades Park.
Goalkeeper: Emiliano Torres, Harrison, Sr.
Torres made 21 saves over four games and recorded a clean sheet, helping Harrison to a 3-0-1 record. Torres made six saves in a 2-1 win over St. Peter’s Prep in the quarterfinals of the Hudson County Tournament and helped Harrison reach the Hudson County finals by making seven saves in an eventual penalty kick shootout win over North Bergen.
