NJIC Volleyball Players of the Week
Roger Chavez, Jr., Garfield
In four games this week Chavez posted a ridiculous 99 assists to help Garfield improve its record to 17-1. He was incredibly efficient as well, as in each game he totaled at least 21 assists and no more than 27 as the Boilermakers didn’t even lose a single set for the 14th straight match. He’s thrived so far in his first year as the starting setter with 377 total assists.
Ylan Tapper, Jr., Garfield
Garfield sweeps the POTW honors in the NJIC this week thanks in no part to Tapper’s performance. His 56 kills were the most in the conference over the last week, with the next higher amount being 27 kills. He finished in double figures for kills in all four of Garfield’s matches and added 22 digs as well.
