Led by junior center double-double of 18 points and 16 rebounds, host Saddle Brook defeated Bogota, 65-31, on Monday to advance to the North 1, Group 1 girls basketball quarterfinals.
Brooks is no stranger to the number 1,000. The anchor down low for the Falcons eclipsed 1,000 points for her career in a game vs. Hasbrouck Heights on Feb. 16th, and now has over 1,000 rebounds for her career. The third-year varsity starter needed just six boards to reach the mark and collected 16, putting her at 1,010 rebounds. Her 18 points raised her career scoring total to 1,062.
Senior G Cherie Smedile led all scorers with 19 points. The Falcons will host Cresskill at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals Wednesday.
