GIRLS FIRST TEAM

Mika Tampadong

Becton junior

Tampadong had a great first year of cross-country after successful first seasons of winter and spring track a year ago. Her very first race was a third-place finish at the Season Opener B race, and she went on to win the NJIC Colonial championship. She placed second at the Bergen Group C championship and the North 2, Group 2 sectional against strong fields. An 11th place finish in state Group 2 put her in the SMOC, where she finished a creditable 66th.

BOYS FIRST TEAM

One of the busiest cross-country runners in the state, Morrow won six races and placed in the top five in 12 of 13 races. He won the NJIC Meadowlands title at Garret and the Bergen D title at Darlington. He also took second at the Shore Coaches meet, third at the Bernie Magee meet at Greystone, fourth in the Bergen Meet of champions and a fifth in state Group 1. In the State Meet of Champions, he finished a creditable 62nd.
