Lyndhurst senior
Chaname made big shot after big shot to carry the Golden Bears (21-10) to their first sectional title in 45 years. The 5-10 guard averaged 23.2 points, with 115 3-pointers, 5.2 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 2.3 steals. His 25-footer at the buzzer beat Madison in the North 2, Group 2 sectional final, 60-57. He scored a program-record 1,431 career points.
Matt Kennedy
St. Mary senior
Kennedy powered the Gaels (25-5) to their first Bergen Jamboree final in program history. The 6-3 guard is a physical, inside-outside scorer who averaged 22.0 points, with 103 3-pointers, and 6.9 rebounds. He hit a handful of 3-pointers, scored 29 and grabbed eight boards in the 76-53 Jamboree semifinal win over Tenafly. He scored 1,448 career points.
