The Record
Darren White took over the Saddle Brook girls basketball program just before the start of the 2012-13 season. The Falcons were coming off a dreadful three-win season, but White was optimistic.
“I was hopeful that we would get off to a better start,” White said of last year’s campaign. “We started 1-10 and lost every game the first time through the league.”
At midseason, however, something clicked, and the Falcons finished a competitive 6-6 in their last 12 games. What happened next is why White is The Record Girls Basketball Coach of the Year.
