HASBROUCK HEIGHTS – It was just five minutes into Hasbrouck Heights’ second game of the season when Frank Quatrone went down. The Aviators quarterback was running to the outside. A Park Ridge defender grabbed his ankle. Quatrone fell, partially tearing two ligaments in his left ankle in the process.
“I rolled right over it,” he said.
Quatrone missed three full games in 2015, but even when he returned, he wasn’t quite 100 percent. Quatrone still helped lead Heights to a 7-3 season, which ended with a 19-0 loss to Verona in the first round of the North 1, Group 1 playoffs.
Now Quatrone is completely healthy, and he is surrounded by quality playmakers. The Aviators again have plenty of returning talent on both sides of the ball, and they’re hoping that translates to a big season.
Hasbrouck Heights plays its first game Saturday at St. Mary.
