Teams continued to jockey for playoff position with another full slate of high school football games around New Jersey this past weekend.
The most recent playoff rankings were released on Sunday with about a month to go before the state sets postseason matchups for the first time in two years.
The United Power Rankings determine the postseason teams. UPR is a combination of power points and Opponents Strength Index (OSI)
Teams are separated into North and South Groups 1 through 5 and Non-Public A and B. The top 16 teams in each group will qualify for the playoffs.
In the public-school groups, those 16 teams will be split into two eight-team sub-groups once the final rankings are determined. Winners of the North and South sub-groups will meet in the final regional championship games as state champions will be crowned for the first time in 2022.
