Cole Hughes, Park Ridge, Jr., QB
The dual threat quarterback had himself a night in the Owls’ 31-14 win at Cresskill on Friday. The junior rumbled for 252 yards and three touchdowns on the ground while adding 72 yards through the air on 7-of-14 passing. Hughes was instrumental in Park Ridge’s sectional title last season and efforts like these will go a long way for a third crown in four years.
Ryan Ward, Rutherford, Jr., WR
Ward had a big day catch the ball in Rutherford’s 35-14 win over Lyndhurst. Ward four catches for 90 yards and three scores. All three of his touchdown receptions came in the second quarter, connecting with senior quarterback Van Weber on scores of five yards, 59 yards and nine yards.
