Lyndhurst was crowned NJIC champion for the first time ever in Week 8 behind a monster performance from its star running back. Check out who it was and what he did, along with the other NJIC player of the week, below:

OFFENSE

Piotr Partyla, Lyndhurst, Sr., RB

Was there ever any doubt? Partyla put the team on his back Friday night in a convincing 34-12 win over Park Ridge to lead the Golden Bears to their first NJIC title ever. Partyla was a busy man in the win, rushing 37 times for 316 yards and all five Lyndhurst touchdowns, including a 60-yarder on Lyndhurst’s first play from scrimmage to set the tone for the night. Partyla also made nine tackles defensively (1 TFL) with one sack and one interception, too. His offensive season totals now read as follows: 176 carries, 1,655 yards, 23 TD.

DEFENSE

Tyler Picinic, New Milford, Sr., LB

Picinic made 12 tackles and registered one sack in New Milford’s 34-14 win over Lodi to lock up a No. 4 seed in North 2, Group 1 in the upcoming state playoffs. Picinic, doubling as New Milford’s TE, too, added three catches for 26 catches and one TD catch against Lodi — his 5th TD reception of the season. He is second on the team in total tackles, with 61, but leads New Milford with a team-best 19 tackles for a loss. He recently committed to the admissions process at Princeton.
