As part of our daily coverage of New Jersey high school football, we will shine the spotlight on some of the top performances in the North Jersey Interscholastic League each week.

On Tuesdays, we will highlight five players who turned in noteworthy efforts on offense from the previous weekend. And on Wednesdays, we’ll turn to those on the defensive side.

Take a look below at our selections for NJIC Offensive Players of the Week from Week 8.

Myles Balchan, Rutherford, Sr., QB

Balchan has done it all for the Bulldogs this season. Within the last few weeks, he has become Rutherford’s all-time career leader in both passing yards (5,682) and passing touchdowns (60) — and counting. He kept his hot streak going with a 42-35 road win at Butler, throwing for 324 yards and four touchdowns on 22-of-28 attempts. He also ran for 47 yards.

Eli Davis, Becton, Sr., QB

Davis continued his dominant senior season in Becton’s 47-15 victory against Park Ridge on Friday in East Rutherford. The dual-threat signal caller completed 6-of-12 passes for 148 yards, two touchdowns and one interception to go with a 325 yards and five scores on 17 rushing attempts. He’s now up to 2,593 passing/rushing yards and 33 touchdowns in the Wildcats’ nine games. Davis is now an Offensive Player of the Week honoree twice this season.

Nick Haines, Hasbrouck Heights, Jr., RB

Haines had the best game of his career in Hasbrouck Heights’ 35-13 home win over Wood-Ridge on Friday. Haines carried 27 times for 229 yards and five touchdowns — career-high efforts in every category. Haines has now scored 21 times in nine contests. He also had a 46-yard catch and two tackles defensively. This is the second time this season Haines has received Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Ethan Martinez, Weehawken, Sr., WR

Martinez became the second player to record five receiving touchdowns in a single game this year. This past week, he caught 10 passes for 233 yards with five scores. On defense, he picked up eight tackles, too. This season, he has produced 51 receptions, 836 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Kobe St. Hilaire, New Milford, Sr., RB

The St. Hilaire tear rolled along on Friday in New Milford’s 34-12 win over Pompton Lakes at home. The senior bruiser ran 36 times for 397 yards and three touchdowns to bring his season rushing line to an absurd 207-1,967-20. This is the third time this year St. Hilaire has earned Offensive Player of the Week honors.
