North Jersey Interscholastic Conference Players of the Week
Nick Ciolino, Saddle Brook, QB/DB, Sr.
Ciolino continues to power Saddle Brook’s offense with his legs, not his arm. In his latest ground assault, Ciolino carried 12 times for 212 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday when Saddle Brook defeated Emerson Boro, 47-20. Ciolino also had five tackles and broke up three passes to help Saddle Brook improve to 3-1.
Gabriel Nunez, Bogota, RB/DB, Sr.
A four-year starter and senior captain, Nunez led Bogota on both sides of the ball in an 8-7 win over Elmwood Park on Saturday. Nunez carried 20 times for 120 yards and scored the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter. He added 12 tackles, including two for loss, to help Bogota remain on top of the Union Division standing. After winning the Union Division title last season, Nunez will be key in Bogota’s title defense.
