North Jersey Interscholastic Conference Players of the Week
Angelica Do, Leonia, Sr.
The senior has helped Leonia go undefeated in its last four games with four-straight triple-doubles. In a win over Garfield she posted 22 points, 10 rebounds, 10 steals, five assists and two blocks. In a win over Park Ridge she recorded 24 points, 10 rebounds and 12 steals, then totaled 22 points, 10 rebounds, 12 steals and three assists in a win over Passaic Charter. In a win against Clifton she contributed a career-high 37 points, 11 rebounds, 10 steals and two assists.
Ava Illuzzi, Secaucus, So.
In the last six games Secaucus has gone 3-3 with wins over Weequahic, Cresskill and North Star Academy and losses against Rutherford, Pascack Valley and River Dell. She’s averaging 17.3 points, six rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.1 steals per game.
Gina Minichiello, Hasbrouck Heights, Jr.
The junior has posted four double-doubles in the past five games as Hasbrouck Heights has gone 3-2 with wins over Becton, Eastern Christian and Waldwick and losses against Old Tappan and Cresskill. In those five games she’s averaging 20 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.8 steals per game. She currently stands at 912 points, 489 rebounds, 222 assists and 167 steals.
