The North Jersey preseason Top 25 rankings are based on input from coaches and people in the North Jersey girls basketball community.

Factors such as returning players, promising newcomers and yearly program performances are taken into account to help form our best estimation of the top teams in the Big North and NJIC.

Naturally, the rankings can and will be shaken up to a degree as the season progresses and results begin to shape the list. The cream rises to the top every year by the time the finish line nears.

Until then, enjoy the journey. New Jersey teams can play a maximum 15 games during this pandemic-shortened season, which runs from Jan. 26 through March 6 and won’t feature a state tournament. So this is likely to be one of the most unpredictable New Jersey hoops seasons ever.
