    Manchester and Garfield opened their seasons Friday against each other, and both had seniors lead the way in a down-to-the-wire game. Aya Abid (14 points, four 3-pointers) and Carolina Farago (nine points) were the top scorers for Garfield, which has 10-players in the program for its varsity-only seasonThe Falcons, who began with six players in uniform, rallied from down five at the end of the third quarter to prevail, 33-32. The teams traded five threes in the final quarter, with two by Manchester senior Camille Arias (19 points). Her classmate, Zoe Watkins (four points, 10 rebounds), made 1-of-2 free throws with 1.7 seconds left ► Freshman Kylie Cabana has made an instant impact for Bogota. In the a season-opening victory against Palisades Park, she scored 29 of the team’s 38 points. The Bucs nearly made it two in a row with Cabana pouring in 23 at New Milford last Wednesday, but the Knights held on, 50-49.
