Girls soccer – Bergen County Tournament First Round
Glen Rock over Holy Angels
Lauren Patasnik and Maggie Sullivan each scored a goal to lead 17th-seeded Glen Rock over 16th-seeded Holy Angels, 2-1, in Demarest, in the first round of the Bergen County Tournament.
Marni Flack and Yuki Shibuya each picked up an assist for Glen Rock (7-2-2), which led 1-0 at the half.
Caelan McHugh scored the lone goal for Holy Angels (5-5).
Glen Rock moves on to play at first-seeded Ramapo
Waldwick over Dwight-Englewood
Tara Lambert scored to lift 15th-seeded Waldwick over 18th-seeded Dwight-Englewood, 1-0, in the first round of of the Bergen County Tournament in Waldwick.
Lambert’s goal in the second half was assisted by Hanao Nakamoto while goalie Emma Timochko made three saves for the shutout.
With the win, Waldwick (9-0) will moves onto the next round.
Sidney Connor did her part making 12 saves for the Bulldogs (6-2).
Lyndhurst over River Dell
Three players scored as 11th-seeded Lyndhurst topped 22nd-seeded River Dell, 3-0, in the first round of the Bergen County Tournament in Lyndhurst.
Kayla Carrino, Kaydee Yallo, and Deidre Kearns all had goals while Maggie Fodera and Jessa Dell Aquila notched assists. Goalie Claudia Lapinski made just one save as well for the shutout.
Lyndhurst advances to the next round and remains undefeated at 10-0 with the win.
River Dell dropped to 4-5-1 with the loss
Emerson Boro over Pascack Valley
Emma Worthington scored two goals to lead 20th-seeded Emerson Boro over 13th-seeded Pascack Valley, 2-0, in Hillsdale, in the first round of the Bergen County Tournament.
Gia Mandile and Katelin Quinones each added an assist for Emerson Boro (9-2), which scored both of its goals in the second half.
Jamie Falotico made six saves to secure the shutout for Emerson Boro, its sixth shutout of the season.
Emerson Boro advances to the second round next week.
Pascack Valley falls to 3-6.
Pascack Hills over Park Ridge
Ninth-seeded Pascack Hills defeated 24th-seeded Park Ridge, 2-1, in Montvale, in the first round of the Bergen County Tournament.
Pascack Hills (7-3-1) moves on to play at eighth-seeded Northern Highlands in the quarterfinal round.
Pascack Hills has won three in a row and five of its last six.
Park Ridge falls to 6-4.
Fair Lawn over Saddle River Day
Emily Cevallos netted a game-winning goal to push 14th-seeded Fair Lawn to a 2-1 win over 19th-seeded Saddle River Day in the first round of the Bergen County Tournament, in Fair Lawn.
Fair Lawn will face third-seeded Ridgewood in the second round on Sunday.
Cevallos scored the game-deciding goal in the second half, off an assist by Kayla Ramirez.
Fair Lawn (7-3) took a 1-0 lead in the first half off an own goal.
Jessica Yee evened up the game 1-1 for Saddle River Day (6-2) with a second half goal.
Sarah Mantilla made four saves for Fair Lawn. Olivia Davidson recorded five saves for Saddle River Day.
