North Jersey Interscholastic Conference Defensive PLayers of the Week

Defender: Amanda Davidoff, Glen Rock, Sr.

Glen Rock’s defense was nearly perfect this week and has been one of the best in the NJIC all season. Davidoff has been at the center of that success throughout her career for the Panthers. Davidoff helped her team get back on the right track with a 1-0 shutout win over Cresskill in the first round of the Bergen County Invitational last Thursday. They then allowed just one goal to Paramus Catholic on Saturday, and ended the week on a strong note with another shutout. The Panthers defeated Manchester Regional 6-0 in one of their final regular season games of the season.

Goalkeeper: Ava Borntrager, Becton, Sr.

Becton played just one game this week, but it was also the best game that Borntrager has played this season. In a 1-0 win over divisional rival Wood-Ridge, the senior made a career-high 16 saves in the shutout effort. It was the seventh shutout win of the season for Borntrager, who also crossed the 100-save mark for the season with her performance.
