The first week of 2025 girls soccer action across New Jersey featured standout offensive performances

Each week, NJ Advance Media will select Players of the Week in every conference on both offense and defense, highlighting the best individual efforts around the state. This includes forwards, midfielders, defenders and goalkeepers. Today, we look at the offensive playmakers across the state.

These selections are made from games played between Monday, Sept. 1, and Sunday, Sept. 7.

North Jersey Interscholastic Conference Players of the Week

Forward: Addilyn Incorvaia, Waldwick, Fr.

The next great scorer in the Incorvaia family is here. Her sisters, Abby and Ava, were stars at Waldwick. Addy looks like she’s the next in line after three goals in her first week of varsity soccer. Incorvaia recorded a hat trick against Saddle River Day, which has one of the best defenses in the NJIC. That’s a sign of big things to come for the rookie.

Midfielder: Rena Shim, Leonia, Sr.

Leonia and Elmwood Park came out and battled in an offensive shootout to start the fall. Leonia outlasted Elmwood Park and Shim recorded a hat trick in a wild 7-5 win. The senior also picked up an assist. Lyah Cortorreal, Angelica Do, Rebecca Herzig and Sohana Jethani all scored once. Senior Brooke Kessler scored four goals for Elmwood Park.
