FIRST TEAM
Briana Andreoli
Hawthorne junior, 200 meters
She had an amazing winter and kept it up into the spring, winning the NJIC Colonial, Passaic County and North 1, Group 2 championship and taking second in the state Group 2 meet at 200 meters. She also won sectional and Passaic County championships at 100 meters.
Amber Barrios
Hasbrouck Heights junior, 400-meter hurdles
If the Aviators do win their first Group 1 state championship next spring, expect Barrios to be in the middle of everything. She won a pair of individual medals in the 800 and 400-meter hurdles in this year’s state meet and was a major player in the 4-x-400 team that medaled and reached the SMOC.
Bella Sing
Rutherford senior, long jump
The Bulldogs won their first sectional title since 1985, and Sing was an important reason why. She was undefeated in the long jump until a 10th-place finish (three inches from a medal) in the State Meet of Champions, including a stunning win in state Group 2. She also took seconds in three other events at sectionals and had the fastest time by a North Jersey athlete in the 100 hurdles this year.
Kiley Mironenko
Waldwick junior, triple jump
She was sensational all year, jumping more than 36 feet in five of her six triple-jump competitions in a year when only one other North Jersey girl broke that barrier. Her only losses came by four inches in state Group 1 and by five inches in a third-place finish at the State Meet of Champs. She broke a 33-year-old school record in the event.
SECOND TEAM
100: Carli Sorvino, Emerson junior
Discus: Erin Karaway, Emerson junior
Triple jump: Anna Memija, Saddle Brook senior
