Congratulations on your selection to the 2024 All-North Jersey Girls Wrestling Team

FIRST TEAM

Leeana Mercado

Lodi senior, 107 pounds

What’s better than winning a state title? Winning two to become the first Lodi wrestler to double up and the second in North Jersey girls wrestling. Mercado (21-1) achieved that goal by beating Pennsauken’s Jasintai Mallqui, 5-2, in the final after defending her county and regional crowns earlier this season.

Faustyna Przedworski

Garfield junior, 126 pounds

While the Boilermakers’ first-year wrestler came one win short of advancing to Boardwalk Hall, she still went further in the state tournament than any other North Jersey wrestler at her weight. She went 16-11 on the year and picked up a title at the inaugural BCWCA Showcase.

Edanys Allyha Gomez

Hawthorne junior

Gomez became the first Hawthorne girls wrestler to advance to the state championships and the only Bergen/Passaic qualifier this year at 185. She showed great improvement with a pin in the region third-place match a year after going one-and-done at Vernon High School.

SECOND TEAM

Bree Cooney

Bogota/Ridgefield Park senior, 185 pounds

Tracy Najarro

Manchester junior, 235 pounds
