Monday was a big day for Glen Rock High School’s golf program. Coach Dan Morgan’s boys team dominated the NJIC Championships, taking Division 1 and overall honors, and coach Paul Cusack’s girls took the third and fourth spots in the league’s nine-hole individual competition. Junior Andrew Nappi led the boys, and senior Julia Wood and junior Hannah Daschil were the low scorers for the girls.

A solid team effort led by Nappi’s 78 on a windy afternoon at Valley Brook Golf Course in River Vale gave the Panthers a 338 total that was 36 strokes better than Leonia in Division 1 and 12 strokes lower than Division 2 winner Dwight-Englewood, the overall pacesetter a year ago. Glen Rock repeated as Division 1 champion. A total of 16 teams competed.

Seniors John Crawford and Clayton Colquitt both had rounds of 86 to tie for fifth, and sophomore Tom LaMacchia carded a seventh-place 88 as the Panthers placed four players in the top 10.
