At the high school level, some of the best teams center around one superstar. As he or she goes, the team goes. For Glen Rock’s hockey team, such isn’t the case.
Head coach Sergio Fernandez has built one of North Jersey’s best hockey teams piece by piece, and this year’s squad is one of the most well rounded clubs that he has coached.
On Sunday night, the Panthers clinched the Big North Silver Division championship with a 3-0 victory over its closest rival to the throne, St. Joseph, which finished division play with a 9-2-1 record (19 points). Glen Rock is 11-0 (22 points) in the division with one Silver game remaining. Overall, the Panthers are 19-2.
