After serving as a Glen Rock assistant coach for five years, Bill Crispino takes the reins of the Glen Rock High School baseball team this spring. He succeeds Joe Sutera, who has moved on to Wood-Ridge as athletic director and assistant principal. Sutera was Crispino’s coach at New Milford. In his five seasons, Crispino served two years as assistant coach and three seasons guiding the JV team.
Crispino feels his team has “an excellent outlook” for the season as he blends returning players with newcomers. The Panthers compiled a 13-12 record a year ago, and nine letter-winners return from that squad (three seniors and six juniors).
He cites pitching and team speed as team strengths. The coach said senior Greg Warner and junior Zach Waller will anchor a starting pitching staff that includes senior Connor Browne and juniors Jason Palmieri and Jeff Buckwalter.
