It was a second chance at history for Secaucus senior guard Jovin Ramos on Thursday night.
After an error revealed that that Ramos did not score his 1,000th point against Queen of Peace on Tuesday, Ramos entered Thursday’s game against Dwight-Englewood with 997 career points. Ramos scored all five of his points in the first quarter as a layup finally gave the senior his milestone in a 75-41 loss to Dwight-Englewood in NJIC boys basketball.
Ramos finished the game with five points and has 1,002 career points.
The game also saw Dwight-Englewood (12-3) win its seventh game in a row and improve to 8-1 in the NJIC.
