GLEN ROCK – George Nadirashvili was a bit banged up, but definitely unbowed — just like the rest of his teammates
Overcoming a pulled left calf, Hawthorne senior midfielder Nadirashvili contributed two goals to help the Bears edge Glen Rock, 3-2, in an NJIC Colonial Division boys soccer contest Monday at Alan Deaett Field.
“Everybody on both teams was going all out. That’s just how it is when these two teams get together,” Nadirashvili said. “It didn’t matter what the score was. We just wanted to come out with a victory.”
Glen Rock (1-1), which had defeated Manchester, 8-1, in its opener Thursday, came out strong and dominated most of the action for the game’s first 12 minutes. Senior midfielder Kevin Hargadon made it 1-0 on a rebound from the left side 5 feet away with 30:52 remaining in the first half.
