LYNDHURST – A sign of a good high school soccer team is the ability to tally goals without relying on its usual scorers.
That’s what happened with Harrison on Monday afternoon when it faced Lyndhurst on the road.
The undefeated Blue Tide (10-0) got goals from four players in a 4-0 whitewash of the Golden Bears.
The first goal came in the second minute of the game and set the tone for the rest of the afternoon. Kalleb Braga caught Rafael Resende in perfect stride and Resende moved in on Lyndhurst goalie Gino Glover.
“He sent me a nice ball,” Resende said about his breakaway chance.
“I tapped it over the goalie after he went down. I knew it was really early, but I knew it was going to be a big goal.”
How big? In the eyes of Lyndhurst coach Denis Jelcic, the game was over.
