MIDLAND PARK — As the Midland Park High School boys soccer program is growing, the varsity team has gone through somewhat of an odd stretch.

“It’s been kind of a weird season,” head coach Dan Anderson said after the first seven games. “We’re either loading up on somebody, or somebody is loading up on us.”

No truer words have been spoken. The Panthers stood at 2-5 at the time. They had fired away for six goals in each of their wins, but had been shut out in the other five. Call it feast or famine.

“We’re a very young team, mostly sophomores and freshmen,” Anderson noted.
