On the eve of her game Friday, Hawthorne goalie Madison Noordeloos and her dad shared a moment. It wasn’t one of those fatherly pep talks, and his words weren’t suitable for a Hallmark card.
Steve Noordeloos, the coach of the Lodi girls soccer team, employed his driest wit when he asked his daughter to go easy on his team.
“He told me to let a few in,” Madison said. “I said, ‘No, I’m not going to do that.’ ”
And she didn’t. Noordeloos made four saves to lead her team to a 3-0 victory over her dad’s team.
The Record Female Athlete of the Week also didn’t allow a goal in the Bears’ games against Glen Rock (scoreless tie) and Elmwood Park (a 6-0 victory).
