NEW MILFORD – Jessey Asare led the way with a terrific performance on the ground. But the Lodi senior speedster got a lot of help from John Calabrese, David Acevedo, Dante McCarroll, and Steven Villa as they all helped carry the Rams into the playoffs.

Asare carried 22 times for 151 yards and scored three touchdowns as Lodi (5-3) piled up more than 350 yards in total offense in a 26-6 victory over New Milford in a NJIC interdivisional game Friday night.

The win, Lodi’s third in a row, puts the Rams in the North 1, Group 3 playoff bracket, probably as a No. 6 or No. 7 seed for the postseason, which begins in two weeks. New Milford (4-4), which had a two-game winning streak snapped, was down by only six points at halftime (12-6), was eliminated from playoff contention in North 1, Group 2.
